Project Overview

Pipestock, a leading supplier of industrial piping and plumbing supplies, sought to enhance its ecommerce capabilities by re-platforming to Magento 2. With a high volume of SKUs and a customer base that frequently places orders on-site or in the field, Pipestock needed a high-performance, mobile-first ecommerce solution.

Key objectives of the project included a mobile-first design to support customers placing orders on the go, enhanced site speed for seamless browsing, an optimised product catalog to efficiently manage a large inventory, and advanced search functionality to improve product discovery.

This project was a critical step in improving usability, speed, and overall customer experience, allowing Pipestock to better serve its trade and industrial customers.

Execution

C3 worked closely with Pipestock to design and develop a high-performance ecommerce platform tailored to their customers’ needs.

A mobile-first approach was prioritised, ensuring an intuitive, fast, and easy-to-use experience on smartphones and tablets. Since many of Pipestock’s customers place orders while on-site, the mobile interface was designed for quick product selection, seamless navigation, and an efficient checkout process.

Site speed optimisation was a key focus, with extensive performance enhancements implemented to ensure fast load times. Advanced caching strategies, optimised image handling, and an efficient database structure helped the site perform well even under high traffic loads.

The product catalog was carefully structured to accommodate Pipestock’s vast range of individual SKUs. Products were categorised and displayed with ease of use in mind, allowing customers to browse and find relevant items quickly.
