Project Overview

In 2019, Rollover Hotdogs, a leading B2B supplier of high-quality hotdogs to businesses such as Co-op, Costco, and Cineworld, embarked on a major digital transformation. Traditionally, all orders were placed manually via phone through their sales and customer service teams. Recognising the need for a more efficient, scalable, and cost-effective solution, Rollover sought to move into ecommerce for the first time.

Having successfully built a B2B ecommerce platform for Oakhouse Foods, another member of the Kerry Foods group, Rollover partnered with C3 to develop a robust, feature-rich B2B ordering system using Adobe Commerce (Magento 2).

Execution

C3 worked closely with Rollover to design and implement a tailored B2B ecommerce platform that seamlessly integrated with their existing business processes. Key elements of the project included:

Microsoft NAV Integration

We developed a custom integration between Adobe Commerce and Rollover’s Microsoft NAV back-end system, ensuring real-time stock management, pricing updates, and seamless data synchronisation.

Customer-Specific Restrictions

Given the nature of B2B ordering, we implemented custom restrictions based on:

  • Order value thresholds to ensure bulk purchasing.
  • Product quantity limits to align with stock availability and business rules.
  • Credit and payment terms to reflect individual customer agreements.
  • Delivery date constraints based on fulfilment schedules.
  • Expedited Reordering & Customer Convenience

We built an intelligent reordering system, allowing customers to:

  • Quickly reorder past purchases with a single click.
  • View lists of frequently ordered products for easy replenishment.
  • Sales History Warnings

To prevent order errors and unusual purchase behaviour, we introduced a sales history warning system. If a new order significantly deviated from a customer’s usual purchasing pattern, a warning would alert them before checkout, ensuring accuracy and minimising fulfilment issues.

The platform was extensively tested and optimised to ensure a smooth transition for Rollover’s existing customers, with dedicated training and support provided post-launch.
